FAMILY DISCIPLESHIP

Soma Kids exists to come alongside and support parents in the discipleship of their kids and to equip our entire body to live out the calling to be disciples who make disciples.

Discipleship is simply communicating gospel truth in the context of relationships, and for kids this happens most naturally and most often in the home.

This page is regularly updated with some resources that may help adults form children into disciples of Jesus who can make disciples of Jesus. If we are to see our children living out their identities as children of God, disciples, missionaries, and servants, they need the same gospel truths that transform us.

THE GOSPEL PROJECT

We use The Gospel Project for children Preschool- 3rd Grade. We encourage parents to follow along with their children and incorporate the lesson throughout the week at home. Each week there is a new video.

The Gospel Project is a 3 year curriculum that helps children (and adults!) learn that the Bible is not a collection of stories. It is one story of God's plan to rescue His people from sin and death. It is the story of redemption, the gospel message of Jesus Christ. And it's our story, too.

NEW CITY CATECHISM

Soma Kids takes 4th and 5th graders through The New City Catechism on Sundays and we are encouraging parents to also use this resource at home with their children. Find the schedule at the top of the page so you can follow along.

The New City Catechism Curriculum features 52 engaging lessons developed from the questions and answers of The New City Catechism, designed to help children ages 8–11 learn the core doctrines of the Christian faith in a Sunday school, classroom, or homeschool setting.

GOSPEL BASICS FOR KIDS

We will from time-to-time supplement the two above curriculums with Gospel Basics For Kids.

Gospel Basics for Kids is a 14-week curriculum journey that engages children’s understanding of the gospel, belief in the gospel, and living the gospel in their daily lives. This story-based approach roots children in the essentials of the gospel and the implications of the gospel in every aspect of life.
