The War Within

The War Within

Romans is the Apostle Paul’s fullest and clearest treatise on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout history, this letter has opened eyes, awakened hearts, and set movements in motion. It’s both profoundly theological and deeply personal, revealing the truth about God, humanity, and salvation. John Stott rightly called Romans a manifesto of freedom in Christ - a freedom that remakes our lives, forms us into God’s people, and sends us as witnesses of Jesus in the world.

Community Discussion

Read Romans 7:7-7:25
1. Study: Why does Paul say the law produced “all kinds of covetousness” in him? Was it already there, or did sin cause him to become a sinner?
2. Believe: How does the law reveal our need for justification, and our ongoing need for sanctification?
3. Enjoy: When you feel the body of death, the weight of your sin, why can you rejoice in the death and resurrection of Jesus?
4. Live: As a community, practice confessing the indwelling sin that feels like a war, and pray for one another that the Spirit will give you victory.
