Soma Celebration: September 27, 2026
His Mercy is More
Chorus
Praise the Lord
His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness
New every morn’
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more
Verse 1
What love could remember, no wrongs we have done
Omniscient, all-knowing, He counts not their sum
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more
Verse 2
What patience would wait as we constantly roam
What Father so tender is calling us home
He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more
Verse 3
What riches of kindness He lavished on us
His blood was the payment His life was the cost
We stood ‘neath a debt we could never afford
Our sins they are many, His mercy is more
We’re Listening
Verse 1
Would you speak, Lord, we're listening
Let your word, Lord, be the lamp unto our feet
If you start it you'll complete it
You won't leave us on our own
Would you speak Lord, we're listening
Chorus
Open our eyes
That we might see
The beauty of your Word
Delight our hearts
In your commands
We're walking in your promises
Verse 2
Would you lead, Lord, we're following
Help us hold fast, we're prone to wandering
If you said it we'll believe it
You're faithful to your word
Would you lead, Lord, we're following
Bridge
Your ways are higher You know just what we need
We trust you Jesus You see what we cannot see
Your words are power You speak and dry bones arise
Lion of Judah The word is roaring to life
Scripture Reading
Romans 11:22-12:2
33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord,
or who has been his counselor?”
35 “Or who has given a gift to him
that he might be repaid?”
36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
12 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Sermon Notes
C.H. Spurgeon: Do not succumb to the usual idea that we can only gather a few useful workers, and that the rest of the community must inevitably be a dead weight: it may possibly so happen, but do not set out with that notion or it will be verified. The usual need not be the universal; better things are possible than anything yet attained; set your aim high and spare no effort to reach it. Labor to gather a church alive for Jesus, every member energetic to the full, and the whole in incessant activity for the salvation of men.
Fully Alive In Jesus: What mercies are enlivening you? What compels you to go all in with Jesus?
Every Member Energetic to the Full: Who are your people this year? And what’s your role among them?
Incessant Mission Activity: Pray together for God’s saving work for all the people you love, in all the places you've been sent.
All That Breathes
Verse 1
Oh praise His name
The high King of kings
Come, voices raised
With all that breathes
Chorus
Praise the Father
The Son
And Holy Ghost
Verse 2
One hope I hold
From ages old
Through years to come
You are my God
Verse 3
Oh prideful death
Where is your sting
I’ll pay no debt
He stands for me
Prayer of Commitment
Our Father, we thank you for your abundant mercies, given freely through Jesus, and supplied by your Spirit. Thank you for rescuing us to yourself, uniting us to your people, and empowering us for your mission. In view of your mercies, we offer ourselves unreservedly to you – living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to you. We ask now for strength to do what you’ve called us to do – whole-heartedly, as a body, in this city, for your glory. For from you, and through you, and to you are all things. To you be the glory forever, Amen!
O God Would You Move
Verse 1
We have heard of all the stories
Of how You healed the deaf and blind
You did miracles and wonders
Would You repeat them in our time
Verse 2
Lord we thank You for Your presence
How You promised not to leave
Come and clothe us with Your power
Come and set the captives free
Chorus
Hear Your people crying out
Holy Spirit would You come
Hear Your people crying out
Holy Spirit would You come
Verse 3
We still believe that You are moving
And You are with us here today
Help us see what You are doing
We don't want to get in Your way
Bridge
We've prayed our prayers
We've made our plans
But if You're not in it
We don't want it
Oh God would You move
Only You can heal our land
Holy Spirit
Come and fill us
Oh God would You move
